Tamil  Nadu  Professional Courses Entrance Examinations  2001 (TNPCEE 2001) will be Conducted by Anna University, Chennai as noted below for candidates  who seek admission to Professional Courses in Tamil Nadu, during  2001-2002  offered  by Government, Government Aided and private professional Colleges (Self- Financing) under the control of  (1) Anna  University, (2)  Directorate of Technical Education, (3) Directorate of Medical Education, (4)  Directorate  of Indian  Medicine  and  Homoeopathy, (5)  Tamil   Nadu Agricultural University and its affiliated institute (Self-Financing) and (6) Tamil Nadu Veterinary & Animal Sciences University.

21.4.2001  -   Biology / Related subjects for Vocational candidates 

                    9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.                          

21.4.2001  -  Physical Sciences 2.30 p.m. to  5.30 p.m.

22.4.2001  -  Mathematics  /  Vocational subjects 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.                     

22.4.2001  -   Aptitude Test in Architecture   2.30 p.m. to  5.30 p.m.

Those who have already passed HSC or equivalent qualifying examination and  those  who are going to appear for  such  qualifying  examination during March-April 2001 can apply for the Entrance Examinations.

As  the Entrance Examinations are conducted before the publication of the  results of qualifying examinations, no minimum marks in  subjects of qualifying examinations are prescribed as eligibility condition for appearing for the Entrance Examinations.  The eligibility  conditions for   admission  in Professional Courses, except those pertaining  to marks,  are  detailed in the brochure "Information &  Instructions to Candidates" attached to the TNPCEE application form.  The  eligibility conditions  on  marks can be obtained from the  respective Admitting Authorities at later date.

All the candidates seeking admission to the above Professional Courses offered in Tamil Nadu should

(i)   appear for TNPCEE 2001 and

(ii)  apply to the respective Admitting Authorities for  admission  to the desired courses.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  Entrance Examinations will be based  only  on  the syllabi and  text books prescribed for the second year of  the Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary Courses.

These Entrance Examinations are applicable to candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu and those who satisfy the nativity / domicile requirements specified for admission to the Professional Courses by the respective Admitting Authorities.

Other State Candidates,  who  wish to  seek  admission  (a) in  Anna University against the seats reserved for Other State Candidates  and (b)  under the Category 'Payment Seats' in Private  (Self-Financing) Engineering Colleges  in Tamil Nadu should also  appear  for  TNPCEE 2001.

As other State candidates are  not  admitted  through  TNPCEE   to Professional Courses offered by the Directorate of Medical Education, Office of the Director of Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy, Tamil  Nadu Agricultural University and Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, other State candidates will not be permitted to appear for the Entrance Examinations for admission to those courses. However this condition  is  not  applicable to candidates  applying  under  Special Category  quota- Children of  Tamil  Nadu Origin  settled in Andaman  Nicobar Medical/Para Medical courses.

Candidates   seeking  admission to the courses  listed   below   in Engineering,  Medicine, Agriculture and Veterinary & Animal Sciences must appear for these Entrance Examinations.

ENGINEERING:  B.E./B.Tech. (4 years) and B.Arch.(5  years)  Programmes offered  by  Anna University, B.E./B.Tech.  (4  years),  B.Arch.  and B.E.(Sandwich) (5 years) courses offered at the Government, Government Aided  and  Private  Engineering Colleges  under  the Directorate  of  Technical Education including Home State Quota of Regional Engineering College,  Tiruchirappalli  and B.E. (Agriculture)  and B.Tech.  (Food Process  Engg.)  Courses of the Tamil  Nadu  AgricultureUniversity, Coimbatore.

Candidates  seeking admission to B.Arch. must write an Aptitude  Test in Architecture (ATA) in addition to other required subjects.

MEDICINE:  M.B.B.S., B.D.S., B.Pharm., B.Sc. (Nursing),  B.P.T./B.O.T. courses  offered at the Government and Private Medical Colleges  under the Directorate of Medical Education and B.S.M.S., B.H.M.S., B.A.M.S., B.N.Y.S.,  B.U.M.S.  Courses  offered at the  Government and  Private Medical Colleges  governed  by the Director  of  Indian  Medicine  and Homoeopathy.

AGRICULTURE: [1]  B.Sc.  (Agri),  B.Sc.  (Horti.),  B.Sc.(Forestry)   and B.Sc.(Home Science) courses offered  by  Tamil  Nadu  Agricultural University,  Coimbatore  and B.Sc.(Agri.) offered  at  Adhiparasakthi Agricultural  College, Kalavai affiliated to Tamil Nadu  Agricultural University.

VETERINARY & ANIMAL SCIENCES: B.V.Sc. and B.F.Sc. courses offered  by Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Chennai.

Selection for admission to the various Professional Courses, including B.Arch.,  will  be  made on the basis of the  marks  obtained  in  the relevant  subjects in the qualifying examination (HSC  or  equivalent) and  in  the Entrance Examinations in the concerned  subjects  with  a weightage of 200:100.

The Entrance Examinations will be conducted in the following subjects:
